Mushroom Pâté

If you’re looking for a simple and delicious appetizer or snack, you should really try out this mushroom pâté that I got from Sassy Radish:
Mushrooms
Onions
Olive oil, and
Salt.

Sauté the onions in the oil, add in the mushrooms and let cook down, then add in some salt and pulse with the immersion blender – and done.

I caramelized the onions a bit, just because I’m super into that these days, and I probably used a higher onion-to-mushroom content, but it was very forgiving!

I put it both on crackers as an hors d’oeuvre, and on toast with gruyere for something a bit more substantial. Yum yum yum!

Next time I will add in some sort of herb, like parsley or cilantro, just for a hint of color and flavor. And maybe some spice – like cumin and cayenne.
